Continuity: Just as the F-14's are coming under fire from the ship, we are shown the pilots. One of the pilots, "Pendry" was killed when his F-14 crashed due to a malfunction in the earlier episode 'Pilot Error'. As such, "Pendry" could not have been fired on in this episode since he was already deceased.

Continuity: Season 9, Episode 5, "Touchdown:" When they try to land the C130 on the aircraft carrier, the co-pilot says that they don't have the right landing gear down, so she goes to the back to instruct one of the passengers how to lower the gear manually. The problem is that they lower the left gear, which was already down.

Factual error: Season 9 Episode 5, "Touchdown": When they approach the aircraft carrier, the copilot says that the number two engine is flaming out. This means there is no more fuel to run that engine. That supposedly also means that there is not enough fuel for a fire alarm lighting up in the cockpit, which is what happens in the show. (Verified by a USMC Staff Sergeant who flew 8 years on a C130).

Factual error: Throughout the series the captains of ships are generally portrayed as holding the rank of captain, regardless of the class and size of the ship they command. In reality the rank of the CO of a frigate would most likely be a Lt.Cmdr or Cmdr whereas the CO of a amphibious ship or a carrier would be a Captain. On these larger ships the XO usually holds the same rank as the CO, but obeys all orders given by him. However unlike in JAG the CAG takes most orders from the carrier group commander (2 star), not the CO.

Factual error: Season 9 Episode 5, "Touchdown": During the approach on the aircraft carrier, they had to put out the gear manually. The copilot shouts that she has three greens (meaning that all gears are down and locked), then she puts the gear lever up. If that is done, the gear would raise again or be in an unsafe position for the landing.

Other: Throughout the whole show there are several shots of submarines, aircraft carrier landings, chopper flights that are exactly the same in different episodes.

Factual error: Season 9, Episode 5, "Touchdown": When they have to jettison fuel during their final approach to the aircraft carrier, Rabb tells his co-pilot to dump 200 pounds of fuel. That is about 30 Gallons (about two normal car tanks). But there is way too much fuel being dumped to be only 30 gallons.

Revealing: Season 9, Episode 5, "Touchdown": When the plane approaches the aircraft carrier, they have to dump fuel, and the fuel comes out through the back. However it should be coming out on the wing tips. So they had a tank of water or something similar that they sprayed out through the back. (Confirmed by a Staff Seargent with the USMC who flew 8 years on a C130.)

Revealing: Season 9 Episode 5, "Touchdown": The cockpit of the C130 is not correctly rebuilt. The pilots are sitting too close to each other. (Verified by a former C130 pilot with the USMC.)

Other: I was so bugged by protocol errors in early episodes that I stopped watching. For example, there were at least 2 episodes where Navy or Marine officers in utility uniforms were wearing Army brass on their collars. In one episode, "Harm" is walking with his female partner through a garage. He returns the salute of an enlisted man who walks by, but she doesn't. In any event, the garage was indoors, where Naval Service protocol says you don't salute.

Continuity: When Rabb & Kate arrive on the Seahawk, they are not wearing the proper life-vests, etc.

Factual error: NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building is located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida - not Vandenberg AFB, CA

Continuity: The death of the astronaut occurring while practicing the escape in the bucket would never happen in real life. That is because when NASA conducts them in real life before a shuttle launch, the crew practices everything up to entering the bucket. NASA does not want to run the risk of their astronauts being injured during a simple practice.

Factual error: When LCMR Rabb and Lt. Pike get off the chopper on the USS Daniel Boone, they are wearing uniforms with no flight suits on. It is Navy regulation that you have on a full flight suit while in a chopper and not going into combat

Continuity: The hull number on the ballcaps of the sailors on the USS Daniel Boone doesn't match the hull number of the ship used to portray it. The hull number on the caps, DDG-72, is currently assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer, USS Mahan.

Continuity: After Harm's cockpit canopy is smashed, he and Ayers continue to fly with their masks off - one would have thought that wearing oxygen masks would have made things easier in that situation

Revealing: As Harm & Mac are returning to the US, we are told they are flying out of London Heathrow. But the stock footage of an airport used is actually London Gatwick, identified by its distinctive control tower, and not Heathrow.

Revealing: When Harm kills a poacher hunting them, they take his rifle but the ammunition he has for the rifle is shotgun shells.

Revealing: The municipal court-room used for the Chief's arraignment hearing looks amazingly similar to the military court-room at JAG. Or maybe, the same architect of the Navy's court-room was retained by the District as well.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Bud is shredding the satelite photograph, when he turns around to talk to Harriet, a microphone dips into the scene for a quick second.
