When the girls are looking through the old newspapers in the library, Roberta stumbles upon the newspaper's story of her mother's death. But this takes place in 1970; Roberta's mother died when she was four, meaning her death occured in 1962. Yet they were looking for Dear Johnny's death, which happened in 1945. There is a scene where teenage Chrissy punches Roberta. When filming this, the actress playing Roberta forgot to turn her head, and ended up actually getting punched in the face full force. They had to halt filming because the actress was badly bruised for days.
The girl that plays Samantha's little sister is Rumor Willis - the daughter of Demi Moore, who plays Older Samantha.
