The Longest Yard (2005) - 16 mistakes
Directed by Peter Segal, starring Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds, Chris Rock, James Cromwell (add more)
Continuity: When Paul Crewe is talking to the old guy that hit the Warden and he says "Oh s***, the Warden?", there is a guard up on a catwalk in the distance behind him, just turning around on the right side to head back to the left. Then the camera cuts to the old man ("Oh s*** is right,") and then back to Crewe, and the guard is suddenly at the other end of the catwalk. There is no way he could be there already.
Continuity: When the inmates step down from their van outside the stadium, the van parks against a wired fence and there is considerable amount of space to move around. When Crewe looks up to the sky with three choppers passing by, the van position is now parallel to the fence and there is only enough space for the inmates to line up. The scene then changes back to the previous position where the van faces the fence and the inmates have enough space to walk together instead of making a queue.
Continuity: When Crewe blocks Deacon's attempt to score game point, Deacon's sweat covers all the way to his shirt's sleeve. When Deacon calls the block as a foul, the sweat only covers up to his shoulder. In fact, throughout the one-on-one game between Crewe and Deacon, the shape of the sweat keeps changing.
Continuity: When the dishonest umpire falls after getting thrown on his groin for the second time, he lies pretty close to a yard line. In the close up scene where Cheeseburger Eddy makes the McNuggets mockery, the umpire's knees actually touch that yard line. The position changes again in the panned scene where the umpire rests midway between two yard lines and Crewe kneels to talk to him. When Crewe tries to warn the umpire and give him the Wet Willie joke, the position returns to the similar one as the McNuggets scene.
Continuity: When Paul Crewe fakes the snap at the end of fourth quarter, the ball is hidden between the tips of an unidentified player's shoes (presumably the center). When the camera zooms in and the player moves away to let Nate Scarborough pick it, the ball is now closer to the knees of that player.
Continuity: The locker room used by the inmates changes between the pre-game and halftime. During the pre-game, the locker room they use is close to the field because the scene shows a lot of sunshine coming through the double-door entry with window panes. When the inmates take the halftime break, the walkway leading to the locker is quite dark and the entrance is only a single door with no window pane. The first time code is the scene from the pre-game and the second one is for the halftime.
