Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Homer follows Rose Rose inside after finding out she's pregnant, there is a visible "T" taped on the floor for him to stand on.

Mistake Continuity: In the scenes where the couple is parked at a drive-in cinema and watching a dark screen because of a blackout during World War 2, the shape of the screen is that for widescreen or Cinemascope movies, not common until about 10 years later.

Mistake Factual error: When Homer leaves the orphanage the trees along the drive are in their October colours - yet just a bit farther on, the trees that should have autumn colours, are fully green. The first Fall Homer is away the season seems to go on and on with very little sign of leaf turning. It's also highly unlikely that anyone would be driving around much at night in a convertible at that time of year in Maine. It would be extremely uncomfortable.

Mistake Factual error: When Homer and Candy go to the movies, the theater has stadium seating. This seating style in theaters wasn't used until much later, not in the early 1940's, and certainly not in Maine.

Mistake Continuity: When Charlize Theron leaves the orphanage, she lies in the car's back seat because she doesn't feel well. However, she is shown sitting upright as they drive away, but lying down again in the scene after.
