Continuity: During the storm the farm hands let the horses go and Dorothy runs to the back of the house as the wind blows directly in her face. If you look closely a large wood plank is sent sliding on the road, in the wrong direction into the wind.

Revealing: In the scene of the Haunted Forest, when Dorothy is taken away by two of the flying monkeys, you can see that as she's kicking her legs in the air that they are mechanical. The kicking is very stiff and inhuman.

Continuity: After they put the green robe on the Cowardly Lion, the flowers in the three pots on the right are different that what we saw at the beginning of the scene.

Continuity: The yellow brick road is made out of painted bricks. As they enter Oz it changes into shiny linoleum with grey grout marks painted on it.

Continuity: As Zeke feeds the pigs we see his hankie sticking straight up out of his back pocket. He doesn't touch it but later before he pulls it out after rescuing Dorothy, it's hanging downward and much more is showing.

Continuity: The rope around the Scarecrow's neck is tied differently throughout the scene after he meets Dorothy. The rag around his hat is rearranged also.

Continuity: After they first meet him when Dorothy pulls the Tin Man's arm down we see her dress and there's nothing on it. In the next shot there are several wet spots on the front of it.

Continuity: Not only does Dorothy's hair change length during the film, it also changes shade. This was noticed on a DVD showing.

Other: As they walk through the forest in the shot before Dorothy says, "I don't like this forest" there are some cool digital glitches in the lower left hand corner of the screen which look like a strand of blue Christmas lights blinking on and off. (Restored and re-mastered DVD version only).

Continuity: When the Scarecrow sings, " In trouble or in pain" Dorothy grabs him and is holding her basket with her left hand. In the next shot the basket is on her forearm.

Visible crew/equipment: As Professor Marvel stands at the window looking at Dorothy and his fingers are curled under the sash. If you look closely they are lit up from underneath, but there's no light on their floor.

Deliberate "mistake": There are two actresses playing Dorothy (and two dogs playing Toto) as she opens the door to Oz. The first is a stand-in wearing a dull colored dress in order to make it look black and white. After she opens the door and moves out of the way, Judy Garland is who we actually see walking through. Look at the different pleats on the two dresses.

Continuity: When the Munchkins start coming out to see Dorothy, one Munchkin comes out of a manhole. But in other wide shots, and when Dorothy leaves to go to Oz, the manhole has totally disappeared.

Revealing: Soon after Dorothy, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow meet the Lion for the first time, they dance along the Yellow Brick Road, singing. As they disappear at the back of the set, their shadows can be seen on the backdrop, equally covering the trees and everything in between. DVD showing.

Other: After the Wicked Witch throws fire down at them the Scarecrow kicks the stump next to him and it moves several times. The one behind him also moves.

Audio problem: As they all stand at the door to Oz Dorothy reaches for the knocker and we hear the overdubbed knocking sound before she touches it.

Continuity: As the Cowardly Lion chases him, Toto runs off the Yellow Brick road into the bushes twice.

Continuity: In the beginning of the movie Dorothy comes running into the farm and there's an old tire hanging from a tree. Two shots later as she walks away from Aunt Em and Uncle Henry the tire has been moved. The angle at which it hangs has been changed and the piece of rope hanging on the bottom of it is now three or four inches closer to dead center than it was before.

Continuity: Inside the cyclone, looking out the window the wind is blowing left to right. In the room the wind is blowing in the window from the right.

Continuity: As she talks to the Scarecrow, Dorothy says to Toto, "Wasn't he pointing the other way?". In several of the close up shots wind is blowing her hair around and in others it isn't.
