In the scene where Somerset goes back to the fat man’s house alone, he cuts a sticker on the door with his switch-blade to get in. The first error is the sticker is on the inside and it says "Keep Out." The best part about it is the door opens inward. How did they put the sticker on the inside and then exit?

During the sales trip the two main characters stop at a gas station to get gas. during this stop Tommy bends the door back and after some struggle gets it to the normal door position. Before Richard gets back to the car however there is a shot of the door all dented up but in place. When Richard pulls the door off it falls to the ground and there isn't a single dent on it. (Also, is it me or does it seem a little ridiculous that someone that loves his car so much didn't notice the large dent down the edge of the door as he faced it while walking from the station to the car?)
Toward the end of the film, Elinor is gardening and has dirt and mud all over her hands. When she then removes the apron while standing inside the house, both the apron and her hands are barely dirty.
Moving out to Sera, Ben is packing his things in a motel. You can see a half full glass standing on a bed table on his left. In the next shot Ben is pouring alcohol to an EMPTY glass filling it in 1/3 approx. In the next scene glass is half full again and in the next one - FULL. Eventually he is drinking from a glass full of alcohol.
In the scene where the Captain (Gene Hackman) is getting ready to address the crew, the Chief of the Boat (an enlisted man) is briefly shown barking orders to the crew wearing a combination cover with an officer's golden chin strap. A Chief Petty Officer wears a black chin strap. Contrary to popular belief, it's not illegal to wear an accurate uniform on film, in fact the military offer their help to ensure uniforms are accurate: http://www.defenselink.mil/news/NewsArticle.aspx?ID=516, so that's not the reason.
